  1. Carlsbad Caverns Picture CD INSTRUCTIONS

  3. Image Specifications
  4.  
  5. Ñ Images are available in TIFF format for your convenience.╩They may be used in any program that can read TIFF images.
  6. Ñ TIFF images are located in the "01" directory/folder inside the "CARLSBAD" directory/folder inside the "CONTENT" directory/folder. Or double click on the "TIFF/QUICKTIME Images" icon in the CD.

  8. Macintosh Image Browser installation:

  10. Ñ Insert CD in drive.
  11. Ñ Double Click on the "Mac Install Me First Installer" to install Kudo image browser software on your hard drive.
  12. Ñ Launch "Kudo¿ Catalog Reader¬" from your hard drive.╩Choose "Open Catalog" from the "File" menu and click on the catalog named "CARLSBAD" in the "Mac_Kudo" folder on the CD. 
  13. Ñ You can choose to copy the ╥CARLSBAD╙ catalog to your hard drive.╩It is located in the ╥Mac_Kudo╙ folder on the CD.╩Double-click on thumbnails to view image full-screen.

  15. Macintosh Screen Saver installation:

  17. Ñ Drag the "Carlsbad Screen Saver" into your ╥Control Panels╙ folder inside your ╥System Folder╙ and restart. Set screen saver preferences by double clicking on the screen saver control panel after restarting.

  19. Macintosh Quicktime installation:

  21. Ñ If you do not have Quicktime installed, open the "QuickTime Easy Install" folder on the CD and double click on the "Installer" icon. Follow on-screen instructions.

  23. Searching captions in the catalog
  24.  
  25. Ñ Captions for each image are in the "notes" field. To
  26. search captions, click on "Find" button in the menu
  27. bar.  When the "find" dialog box comes on screen, change the
  28. pull-down menu from "Name" to "Notes", type in the word(s)
  29. you are searching for and click on the "Find"
  30. button.  Double-click on thumbnails to view image
  31. full-screen.

  33. Using image Browser features

  35. Ñ Find/Search Captions
  36.  
  37. In the catalog Captions for each image are stored in the
  38. "notes" field. Captions can be viewed by selecting the large
  39. view icon on the menu bar. Use these captions to search for
  40. individual images or groups of images. To search captions,
  41. click on "Find" button in the menu bar. In the "find" dialog
  42. box, change the pull-down menu from "Name" to "Notes", type
  43. in the word(s) you are searching for (i.e. "3D",
  44. "historical", "video", etc.) and click on the "Find" button.
  45. Double-click on thumbnail to view image full-screen.

  47. Ñ Help/Internet Connection

  49. The "Imspace" web site (imspace.com) is full of great user
  50. tips, free upgrades and trouble-shooting tips (plus a User's
  51. Guide for Mac). Use "connect to Imspace" under "Help" on PC
  52. computers and under "Scripts" on Mac.
